Scolastica Muthoni a mother of three who was born and raised in Nairobi county. She later moved and settled to Kwa Reuben in the year 1978. She schooled at St. Pauls primary school and later sat for her secondary certificate as a private candidate in Church Army Institution. Her motivation is to empower the youth by linking them with opportunities set aside for them. Her vision is to bring social and economic development to Kwa-Reuben ward

Scolastica currently serves as the leader of Mwangaza self-help group that was started 1985. She was elected in the board in the Matatu sector at Kwa Reuben ward.She is currently the leader of Mwangaza group which started in 1985 and has achieved a lot to date ranging from building temporary houses for women in the group, piping water for easier accessibility and initiated merry-go-round that have boosted women financially.

Development Agenda:  

Youth and Women Empowerment

Youth and women need to form small groups, Saccos and do the capacity building for the importance of change. Scolastica endeavours to source for opportunities and resources for the benefit of women and youth in the ward. She will work with the existing vocational institutions in the ward to enrol more youth into the institutions. She will additionally set a side a budget to expand and equip the vocational institutions in the ward.

Bursaries for Students

At its basic level, education is important because it gives people the baseline skills to survive. It is also a right for every child to get quality education. Scolastica hopes to ensure that the existing   ECD centres are improved and that learning materials (books stationary, sports equipment visual learning aids) are provided to make learning easy and better. She will also avail bursaries for the deserving students in secondary schools
