Development Agenda:

Shamakhokho ward has suffered marginalization for long and the area has continued to languish in adverse poverty even in this era of devolution. The entire community is highly affected but women and youth suffer more because they are the majority. Racheal purposes to lobby the county assembly to pass laws that will help protect the girl child from old outdated cultural practices such as early marriages and girl child discrimination when it comes to schooling. She also intends to empower the youth and women through encouraging to form groups and participate in economic activities.

Shamakhokho ward has very few ECDE centres and even schools are few thus children are forced to walk very long distances to access education. The few centres do not have qualified teachers and also lack enough learning material to aid the children in learning. Racheal intends to lobby the county government and well-wishers to help create a kitty for the expansion and upgrading of the existing ECDE classes and constructing more across the ward to cater for the increasing number of children. She also purposes to use the kitty to purchase more learning material and lobby for the deployment of qualified teachers to the region.

Shamakhokho ward also suffers from insufficiency of health facilities and the few that are available are not well equipped with medical equipment and drugs. The facilities also do not have enough medical personnel to cater for the residents of the ward. Racheal intends to lobby the county government to allocate funds for the renovation of the existing public health facilities. She also purposes to use the funds to construct new health facilities so that every resident of Shamakhokho ward can access medical assistance easily.
