Development Agenda:

Water has been a perennial problem in West Kisumu ward and the problem gets worse during dry spells because women waste valuable time to fetch the commodity by walking long distances to the lake. Margret intends to lobby the county government to set aside funds that will enable the expansion of the Kisumu water treatment plant and also ensure that every household in the ward is connected with clean tap water.

Majority of youth lacks job opportunities from within thus movement from rural to urban centers for job searches is very high. Margret intends to work closely with other stakeholders to create job opportunities within the ward for local youth. He also intends to woo investors to the ward to set up enterprises so that the local youth can get jobs and be able to fend for themselves and their families.

Kisumu region in general has one of the highest HIV/AIDS cases in the country and this affects West Kisumu ward as well. Margret purposes to run joint campaigns together with other stakeholders to create awareness, support VCT programs and offer assistance to people living with HIV/AIDS and their families.
