Magdalyne was born and raised in Soy Mining Village in Trans Nzoia County as the last born in a family of nine. The mother of one schooled at Lelemolok Primary School and after sitting for her KCPE Certificate she joined Lelemolok Secondary School. She graduated with a certificate course in Early Childhood Education for Nandi North Dicece. She also pursued a diploma course in Early Childhood Education from Trans Nzoia Dicece and currently is pursuing a degree course in Early Childhood Eduaction in Kisii University. Her motivation to become a political leader in her ward was fuelled by her passion to ensure that the residents of Kapomboi ward area able to access quality public services. Her vision for the residents of Kapomboi is that all the areas in the ward are able to access fair distribution of resources to help ensure even ward infrastructural development.
Magdalyne has served as a senior teacher in Kabei Academy in her ward for three years, where she has actively engaged with the students in her ward been an aid to ensuring that children access quality education. Her tenure in the school has helped her gain popularity with the residents in her ward as she has been instrumental in sensitizing the residents in the ward on the importance of enrolling children of school going age to education institutions to help increase the retention rate in the schools. Magdalyne also ventured in business where she operates in Kapomboi Market and she managed to encourage the traders in the market to establish a group where she has served as a treasurer. She also serves as the choir master in Kapomboi SDA Church.
Young children in Kapomboi ward are forced to walk several kilometres to access public ECD centres which is tedious for the children. She hopes once elected to lobby for a budget allocation in the county government to ensure the construction of adequate ECD centres in the ward to help the children to easily access quality education.
Kapomboi ward has an increasing number of home deliveries as the public health facilities in the ward lack maternity wards. This has also lead to high maternal deaths in the area. She intends once elected to ensure that the public health facilities in the ward have maternity wards that are fully equipped to help reduce the high numbers of home deliveries that will eventually help reduce new born infections.
The deplorable state of the feeder roads in Kapomboi ward has adversely affected the transportation sector in the ward especially in the rainy season. Magdalyne hopes to lobby for allocation of funds that will help in construction of the feeder roads with murram as well as building of culverts in the ward. This will help the traders and farmers in the ward to move their produce easily promoting trade.
