Profile Description

Jane Wairimu was born and bred Kirichu Village in Nyeri County in family of six and later moved to Nairobi County where she got married and settled with her family. The mother of three schooled at Kirichu Primary School and later joined Moi Equator Girls Nanyuki. She graduated with a Certificate in Catering and Institutional Management from Limuru School of Catering.  She has also pursued an Instructors’ course at Kenya Teachers Technical College and Certificate in Mass Food Production at Utalii College. Her motivation to vie for a political position was fuelled to by the need to ensure that the residents of Roysambu are able to access basic public amenities and empowerment of women and youth. Her vision for the residents of Roysambu is that they are able to access adequate clean water and proper drainage systems are established, access to quality healthcare and education.

Jane has served as the chairlady of Catholic Women Association In Madre Teresia Parish and chairlady of Ruaraka Deanery for eight years. During her tenure she managed to establish different programs including the Uji Project, the Annual Sports Day for Ruaraka Catholic Women and annual leadership workshops in Ruaka Deanery. She serves as the chairlady of Rosa Mystica Women Group and the secretary for Women of Faith Self-help Group. During her tenure in the women groups she has managed to mobilize the women to make contributions that have been utilized in establishment of small enterprises. She has also served as a volunteer in Ukweli Children’s Home in Kasarani and Mary Emmaculate Children Home in Nyahururu where she has made donations in kind and also provided mentorship for the children in the homes.

Youth Empowerment

With the high unemployment rate among the youth in Roysambu Constituency, some of the young people have indulged in drug addiction and idleness while as some young women engage in prostitution to be able to earn a living. Once elected, Jane aims at lobbying for the establishment of rehabilitation

centres in the constituency to help reform the youth. She also hopes to help the youth set up small businesses by encouraging them to venture into agribusiness and coordinated garbage collection for environmental conservation as well as job creation.


The public health facilities in Roysambu Constituency lack ambulance services for the patients in the facilities. The constituency houses a high population of constituents as it is in the urban area and the available public health facilities are not adequate for the growing population. Jane aims at working closely with the government to ensure that additional public health facilities are constructed in the constituency and the purchase of ambulances is implemented to help deliver quality healthcare to the constituents.

Water and Sanitation

Inconsistent water supply and lack of proper drainage systems is a normal occurrence in the area. The poor drainage systems poise as a health threat to the residents of Roysambu. Jane intends to for the supply of adequate clean water to the residents by the relevant stakeholders. She also intends to lobby for the construction of proper drainage systems in the constituency.
