Profile Description

Caroline hails from Igoji East ward in Meru County from a family of thirteen and also got married in the same area. The mother of three attended Kathangari Primary School and later joined Gikumene High School. She pursued a Diploma in Mass Communication from Kenya Institute of Mass Communication. Her motivation to vie to is the underdevelopment of Igoji East Ward which has in turn slowed economic growth in the area. The poor state of the roads and lack of proper infrastructures have encouraged her to vie and lobby for development projects that will aid economic growth. She envisions Igoji Ward attaining ward infrastructural development that will help sustain economic growth.

Caroline currently serves as a church leader in Kathangari Prayer House where she coordinates the women groups and small Christian communities in the church. She also served as a youth leader in Kathangari Prayer House where she led the choir group and held mentorship programmes for the youth. She is currently patron of Mwangaza Community Based Organization which majorly carries out development projects in the community that help them earn income. She is a radio presenter for Meru FM, Media Max Network Limited for five years which has coverage across the country.

Development Agenda:


A section of Igoji East Ward has feeder roads that are in deplorable state that makes them impassable especially during the rainy season. Catherine aims at lobbying the country government to expand the existing feeder roads and construct new ones in the section of the ward where they are impassable. She also intends to ensure that proper drainage systems and culverts are constructed to help maintain the roads in good conditions.


Agriculture is the main economic activity for the residents of Igoji East ward yet majority of the farmers yield low produce from vast farm fields. The farmers also face water shortage with also negatively affect production in the farms. Once elected, she aims at ensuring that farmers are able to gain new farming

skills and techniques through capacity building. She also aims at working closely with the key stakeholders in the agriculture sector to introduce agribusiness to the farmers.


With construction of public health facilities in Igoji East ward still ongoing, residents are forced to seek medical services from private hospitals or crowding in the few health facilities. Catherine hopes to ensure that funds are allocated for the completion of the construction and equipping of the public health facilities to help ensure the residents are able to access quality healthcare near their households.
